Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates to a method for browning a surface of a food product when heated in a microwave oven comprising the steps of i) coating the surface with a composition comprising an edible oil; ii) overlaying the coating of step i) with a second coating comprising an edible chemical base; and iii) heating the food product in a microwave oven with the use of a susceptor for a time period sufficient to brown the surface of said food product. Further aspects of the invention are food products obtainable by the present method either before or after the heating step. La présente invention concerne un procédé pour brunir une surface d'un produit alimentaire lorsqu'il est chauffé dans un four à micro-ondes comprenant les étapes de i) revêtement de la surface avec une composition comprenant une huile comestible ; ii) recouvrement du revêtement de l'étape i) avec un deuxième revêtement comprenant une base chimique comestible, et iii) chauffage du produit alimentaire dans un four à micro-ondes à l'aide d'un suscepteur pendant une durée suffisante pour brunir la surface dudit produit alimentaire. D'autres aspects de l'invention sont des produits alimentaires pouvant être obtenus par le présent procédé avant ou après l'étape de chauffage.
