Zusammenfassung:	An asphalt composition comprising aggregate, bitumen, sulphur and a hydrotalcite anionic clay is disclosed, wherein the amount of anionic clay is preferably from 0.05 wt% to 10 wt%, based upon the weight of the sulphur. Methods of preparing asphalt compositions and asphalt pavements are also disclosed. The presence of hydrotalcite anionic clay significantly reduces H2S, SO2 and sulphur vapour emissions from sulphur-containing asphalt compositions. La présente invention concerne une composition d'asphalte comprenant un agrégat, du bitume, du soufre et une argile anionique hydrotalcite, dans laquelle la teneur en argile anionique est de préférence située dans la plage allant de 0,05 à 10 % en poids, sur la base du poids du soufre. L'invention concerne également des procédés de préparation des compositions d'asphalte et de chaussées en asphalte. La présence de l'argile anionique hydrotalcite réduit significativement les émissions de vapeurs de H2S, de SO2 et de soufre à partir des compositions d'asphalte contenant du soufre.
