AUTOMOBILE SEAT HAVING AUTOMATICALLY OR OPTIONALLY HEIGHT-ADJUSTABLE HEAD REST

A motor vehicle seat with automatically or optionally height-adjustable head rest gives to each user a possibility of manually changing or correcting each automatically adjusted position of such automatically height-adjustable head rest (4), wherein an unambiguous visual identification of such subsequent adjustment of the head rest (4) must be assured. The seat according to the invention is furnished with a control assembly (6), which is arranged in the area of the head rest (4) and essentially consists of a casing (60), which is merely surrounded with an upholstery (43) of the head rest (4) and is moreover adapted to receive at least one control button (61) and at least one indicating button (62), wherein said control button (61) is embedded and elastically supported within said casing (60) and is adapted either to establish interconnection between the head rest (4) and at least one bearing member (40', 40"), or optionally to interrupt said interconnection in order to allow temporarily the head rest (4) to move relative to said bearing members (40', 40"), namely along said bearing members (40', 40"), and wherein said indicating button (62) is also embedded within said casing (60) and adapted to cooperate with a notch (45), which is available on the surface of that bearing member (40') of the head rest (4), which is arranged to cooperate with said control button (61), so that each movement of the head rest (4) in a direction apart from the area of cooperation between the indicating button (62) and said notch (45) can be due to essentially changed position of the indicating button (62) visually identified and is visible on the external surface of the head rest (4).
