L'invention concerne un procédé d'obtention d'acide acétique à partir d'éthanol par oxydation en une seule étape, consistant à utiliser une composition catalytique à base d'oxyde de palladium, supporté sur silice, alumine ou, de préférence, zirconium, dans des conditions impliquant une température comprise entre 100°C et 300°C, une pression comprise entre 1 bar et 20 bars et une vitesse spatiale comprise entre 20.000h-1 et 80.000h-1. Processo de obtenção de ácido acético a partir de etanol por oxidação em uma única etapa, usando-se composição catalítica a base de óxido de paládio, suportado em sílica, alumina ou preferentemente zircônia, em condições de temperatura entre 100°C e 300°C, pressão entre 1 bar e 20 bar e velocidade espacial entre 20.000h"1 e 80.000h"1.
