Zusammenfassung:The present invention relates to a composition for delaying, preventing and treating age-related macular degeneration, wherein the composition comprises ginseng/red ginseng extracts and ginsenoside as an active ingredient. More particularly, the present invention relates to a composition for delaying, preventing and treating age-related macular degeneration, wherein the composition comprises, as an active ingredient, ginseng/red ginseng extracts and ginsenoside for normalizing the function of the Bruch's membrane of an eye. The present invention relates to a composition for preventing and treating vision deterioration, wherein the composition comprises ginseng/red ginseng extracts and ginsenoside as an active ingredient. More particularly, the present invention relates to a composition for preventing and treating vision deterioration, wherein the composition comprises, as an active ingredient, ginseng/red ginseng extracts and ginsenoside for normalizing the function of the Bruch's membrane of an eye. Degenerative changes of the transport function of the Bruch's membrane resulting from aging cause eyesight failure in aged persons, and in severe cases, such degenerative changes may ultimately cause an age-related macular degeneration which can lead to blindness. The composition of the present invention may remove substances deposited on the Bruch's membrane and improve the transport function of the Bruch's membrane so that the Bruch's membrane may be regenerated through cell reactions in retinal pigment epithelium (RPE). The treatment disclosed in the present invention may prevent and treat functional eye failure as a result of degeneration with age. The deterioration of the function of transporting vitamin A, essential metal and antioxidants which pass through the Bruch's membrane may cause eyesight failure in aged persons, and said failure can be prevented just by taking medicine comprising the composition of the present invention. The composition of the present invention may improve the transport function of the aging Bruch's membrane, and may prevent eyesight failure of the ordinary aged person and patient suffering from age-related macular degeneration.
