Zusammenfassung: | The present invention relates to an exterior wall-coupling type ultrasound system for measuring density and a method for same, and comprises: an ultrasound sensor portion, which is coupled to the exterior wall of a pipe through which a fluid to be measured flows, for transmitting and receiving ultrasound through a wall; and a density measurement device for measuring density depending on the strength of ultrasound that passes through the pipe, the fluid to be measured, and the pipe by means of the ultrasound sensor portion, wherein the process involves a real time (RT) mode step of monitoring change in density in real time through the ultrasound sensor portion and the density measurement device in accordance with an operation pattern on the field, and a process monitoring (PM) mode step of automatically measuring change in density through the ultrasound sensor portion and the density measurement device only when the process is in operation, based on a process condition monitoring (PCM) result. As a result, the present invention can measure flow velocity by using time difference between an ultrasound transmission sensor and an ultrasound reception sensor, allow long-term usage of the sensors without malfunctioning by protecting the sensor from sludge, reduce design cost by eliminating the need for a bypass pipe that is used for maintaining/repairing the sensors, and maximize process operation efficiency through automatic operation by controlling auxiliary equipment in accordance with the state of process operation inside the pipe by means of a PCM algorithm, as well as automatically control density measurement depending on the operation pattern on the field.
