A further aspect provides a fastener having workpiece-engaging surfaces made of an inactive and non-shape memory material. La présente invention a trait à un élément de fixation actionné par un matériau intelligent. Selon un autre aspect, un élément de fixation inclut un matériau à mémoire de forme et un matériau sans mémoire de forme, lequel matériau à mémoire de forme ne constitue qu'une minorité de l'ensemble des matériaux de l'élément de fixation. Un autre aspect fournit un élément de fixation qui est doté de surfaces de mise en prise de pièce qui sont constituées d'un matériau sans mémoire de forme et inactif.
