NEW IKACH BLOCKERS

The invention relates to compounds according to Formula (I): or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein m, n, R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, x and y are as defined herein. Compounds according to Formula (I) are pharmacologically effective as potassium channel inhibitors, in particular inhibitors of the acetylcholine operated inward rectifying potassium channel current (i.e. IKACh blockers), and are believed to be useful in the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, in particular supraventricular tacharrhythmias, such as atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter. L'invention se rapporte à des composés selon la formule (I) : ou un de ses sels pharmaceutiquement acceptables, où m, n, R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, x et y sont comme définis par la présente. Des composés selon la formule I sont pharmacologiquement efficaces comme inhibiteurs des canaux potassiques, en particulier comme inhibiteurs du courant entrant de rectification potassique activé par l'acétylcholine (bloquants de l'IKACh), et on pense qu'ils sont utiles dans le traitement des arythmies cardiaques, en particulier des tachyarythmies supraventriculaires, comme la fibrillation auriculaire et les palpitations auriculaires.
