SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR RECOMMENDING DIGITAL CONTENT USING CONTACT LISTS

A system and method for recommending digital content in which a user employs her contacts list to recommend the digital content. The recommender initiates the recommendation process using her local device by generating a recommendation. The recommendation contains an identification of the recommender, an identification of the contact and an identification of the digital content to be recommended. The recommendation is communicated from the recommender' s local device through a communication channel to a server. The server processes the recommendation from the recommender and generates a recommendation email and/or a recommendation notification. The recommendation email and notification are sent to the recommendee through a communication channel selected by the recommender. The recommendation email further contains a URL that directs the recommendee back to a summary of the recommended digital content. La présente invention concerne un système et un procédé servant à recommander un contenu numérique selon lesquels un utilisateur emploie sa liste de contacts pour recommander le contenu numérique. Le recommandeur engage un processus de recommandation à l'aide de son dispositif local en générant une recommandation. La recommandation contient une identification du recommandeur, une identification du contact et une identification du contenu numérique devant être recommandé. La recommandation est communiquée du dispositif local du recommandeur à un serveur par un canal de communication. Le serveur traite la recommandation du recommandeur et génère un courrier électronique de recommandation et/ou un avis de recommandation. Le courrier électronique et l'avis de recommandation sont envoyés à la personne faisant l'objet de la recommandation par un canal de communication sélectionné par le recommandeur. Le courrier électronique de recommandation contient en outre une adresse URL qui redirige la personne faisant l'objet de la recommandation vers un résumé du contenu numérique recommandé.
