La présente invention se rapporte à un appareil et à un procédé permettant d'empêcher les salissures d'origine biologique de systèmes optiques sous-marins à l'aide d'une lumière ultraviolette générée depuis l'intérieur d'un récipient sous pression et à travers une fenêtre optique, sans enlever les systèmes optiques de l'eau et sans engendrer de frais relatifs à des produits chimiques à répandre dans l'eau.
