PRECODING TECHNIQUE

A technique for precoding a signal to be transmitted over a physical channel (102; 206) from a sender to a receiver is provided. As to a method aspect, a method (100) comprises the steps of receiving (104) precoding information and applying (108) a precoding matrix (W) at the sender based on the precoding information. The precoding information is received via a feedback mechanism from the receiver. The application results in a precoded signal (216, 218) for transmission over the physical channel (102; 206). The precoding matrix (W) enhances mutual information (I) at the receiver. La présente invention se rapporte à une technique pour le précodage d'un signal devant être transmis sur un canal physique (102 ; 206), d'un expéditeur à un destinataire. Le procédé selon l'invention (100) comprend les étapes consistant : à recevoir (104) des informations de précodage ; et à appliquer (108) une matrice de précodage (W) au niveau de l'expéditeur sur la base des informations de précodage. Les informations de précodage sont reçues via un mécanisme de rétroaction en provenance du récepteur. L'application conduit à obtenir un signal précodé (216, 218) devant être transmis sur le canal physique (102 ; 206). La matrice de précodage (W) améliore les informations mutuelles (I) au niveau du récepteur.
