Zusammenfassung:	A sheath comprises an elastomeric tube having a self-expanding scaffold coupled to a wall. The scaffold can expand to a diameter larger than the tube diameter to provide an enlarged distal opening. An aspiration catheter has a balloon and an aspiration port so that occlusive material can be removed from a blood vessel by drawing the balloon through the vessel while simultaneously aspirating through the port. La présente invention a trait à une gaine qui comprend un tube élastomérique doté d'un échafaudage auto-extensible qui est couplé à une paroi. L'échafaudage peut s'étendre jusqu'à un diamètre supérieur au diamètre du tube en vue de fournir une ouverture distale élargie. Un cathéter d'aspiration est équipé d'un ballon et d'un orifice d'aspiration de sorte que le matériau occlusif peut être retiré d'un vaisseau sanguin en tirant le ballon à travers le vaisseau tout en aspirant simultanément à travers l'orifice.
