Le banc comporte des moyens de maintien en position du divergent, aptes à maintenir le divergent de telle sorte que son axe soit vertical, et aptes à interagir avec une partie aval du divergent située dans la moitié aval de celui-ci, afin de limiter une déformation et/ou un déplacement de cette partie aval. Ainsi, le banc d'essais permet que le divergent ne soit pas endommagé même si des efforts latéraux lui sont appliqués au cours des essais.
