Zusammenfassung:	A method of manufacturing a medical electrical lead includes molding a lead body preform, stringing an electrode onto the preform and over molding the preform with a polymer to form a lead body portion. The preform has a proximal end, a distal end and at least one lumen extending between the proximal and distal ends. At least one asymmetric region of the preform has a transverse cross-section that has a non-circular outer dimension. The over molding causes the asymmetric region to become substantially circular. Procédé de fabrication d'un conducteur électrique médical, comprenant les étapes suivantes: mouler une préforme de corps de conducteur, enfiler une électrode sur la préforme et surmouler la préforme avec un polymère de manière à former une partie de corps de conducteur. La préforme présente une extrémité proximale, une extrémité distale et au moins une lumière qui s'étend entre les extrémités proximale et distale. Au moins une région asymétrique de la préforme présente une section transversale dont la dimension extérieure est non circulaire. Le surmoulage force la région asymétrique à devenir sensiblement circulaire.
