L'invention porte sur un appareil de coiffure (10) qui comprend un cylindre chauffant (20) et un manchon de protection (28) qui recouvre une partie du cylindre chauffant, le manchon protecteur comprenant une paroi (30) munie d'une fente hélicoïdale (32) ce qui permet de recevoir une mèche de cheveux par la fente de façon à ce que ladite mèche vienne en contact avec le cylindre chauffant.
