Zusammenfassung:	Embodiments of a welding power supply include a housing and a diesel engine disposed in the housing and adapted to output a first power output curve and a second power output curve substantially higher than the first power output curve. The welding power supply also includes a controller coupled to the diesel engine and adapted to control the diesel engine to operate along the first power output curve during a low power operation and to control the diesel engine to operate along the second power output curve during a high power operation. L'invention porte sur une alimentation de soudage qui comprend un carter et un moteur diesel disposé dans le carter et apte à fournir une première courbe de sortie de puissance et une seconde courbe de sortie de puissance sensiblement plus élevée que la première courbe de sortie de puissance. L'alimentation de soudage comprend aussi une unité de commande accouplée au moteur diesel et apte à commander le moteur diesel pour qu'il fonctionne selon la première courbe de sortie de puissance pendant un fonctionnement à basse puissance et pour commander le moteur diesel pour qu'il fonctionne selon une seconde courbe de sortie de puissance pendant un fonctionnement à haute puissance.
