Zusammenfassung:An improved process for preparing 4-[3, 5-bis (2-hydroxyphenyl)-l, 2, 4-tpazol-l -yl] benzoic acid of formula-1 and a process for its purification are provided The preparation process comprises reacting salicylic acid with salicylamide in the presence of a suitable base, in a suitable solvent and in the presence of thionyl chloride at reflux temperature, then reacting 2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-benz[e][l,3]oxazin^-one with 4-hydrazinobenzoic acid in a suitable alcoholic solvent at reflux temperature to provide deferasirox. La présente invention concerne un procédé amélioré pour la préparation d'un composé acide 4-[3,5-bis(2-hydroxyphényl)- 1 H- 1,2,4-triazol- 1 -yl]benzoïque de formule (I) et un procédé pour sa purification.
