Zusammenfassung:Disclosed is a battery charging system for an electric vehicle, capable of improving energy consumption efficiency and extending battery life in a hybrid electric vehicle by optimizing a set point of the state of charge (%) of the battery of the hybrid electric vehicle. The battery-charging system comprises an SOC management apparatus including: an engine for generating driving power; a generator for generating electricity from the engine; an electric motor; an electrical energy storage device for driving the electric motor, configured either as a battery, an ultra capacitor, a fuel cell, or a combination of a battery and an ultra capacitor; a control unit for controlling the operation of the engine, electric motor, generator, or electrical energy storage device; and a navigation system with a built-in electronic map for receiving and displaying information supplied by a GPS, wherein the control unit includes a battery management system (BMS) for monitoring the current state of the electrical energy storage device, and the SOC management apparatus uses road and traffic information in the electronic map of the navigation and information on acceleration, deceleration, braking, steering, and weight of the electric vehicle from the control unit as parameters for determining the SOC of the electrical energy storage device. By installing and using the battery-charging system for an electric vehicle, regardless of the type of vehicle, battery life can be extended, energy consumption can be reduced, and manufacturing costs can be reduced when designing electric vehicles, as battery capacity and engine capacity can be reduced and optimized.
