Zusammenfassung:	Provided herein are compounds and methods for use in preventing or treating a viral infection mediated by a virus comprising an IRES-containing RNA molecule or cancer related to an increase or decrease in IRES-mediated translation of an RNA molecule. Also provided are methods of inhibiting or promoting IRES-mediated translation. Also provided are methods of screening for an agent that inhibits IRES-mediated translation. La présente invention concerne des composés et des méthodes utilisables en vue de la prévention ou du traitement d'une infection virale à médiation par un virus comprenant une molécule d'ARN contenant une séquence IRES ou, encore, d'un cancer associé à une hausse ou à une baisse de la traduction à médiation par les séquences IRES d'une molécule d'ARN. L'invention concerne également des procédés visant à inhiber ou à favoriser la traduction à médiation par les séquences IRES. L'invention concerne, en outre, des procédés de criblage d'un agent inhibant la traduction à médiation par les séquences IRES.
