SHEATH-FLUID-FREE FLOW CYTOMETRY METHOD AND DEVICE

The invention relates to a method and to a device used to carry out a flow cytometry method, preferably intended for, but not limited to, the counting and differentiation of white blood cells. More specifically, the invention relates to the field of simplified hematology devices with low operating costs. According to the invention, the method is characterised in that an impedance measurement technique is used to identify particles having a trajectory that has not passed through a predetermined optical measurement area so as to treat said particles selectively, thereby eliminating the use of sheath fluids in order to guide the particles toward the measurement area. La présente invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif mettant en oeuvre le procédé de cytométrie en flux, applicable préférentiellement mais de manière non limitative au comptage et à la différentiation des globules blancs. Elle concerne plus particulièrement le domaine des appareils d'hématologie simplifiés et de coût d'exploitation modéré. Le procédé selon l'invention est caractérisé en ce qu'une technique d'impédancemétrie est utilisée pour identifier les particules dont la trajectoire n'a pas traversé une zone de mesure optique prédéterminée afin de les traiter sélectivement, évitant ainsi l'utilisation de fluides de gainages pour guider les particules vers ladite zone de mesure.
