Zusammenfassung:	A device (100) is disclosed having a motion vector processing module (232) to determine a first set of motion vectors (2343) associated with a macroblock of a video picture. A motion vector reduction module (1131) determines a second set of motion vectors (2344), based on the first set of motion vectors (2343), associated the macroblock, the second set (2344) having fewer motion vectors than the first set (2343). A decode module (112) comprising an input completes decoding of the macroblock based upon the second set of motion vectors (2244). Un dispositif (100) selon l'invention dispose d'un module de traitement de vecteur de mouvement (232) pour déterminer un premier ensemble de vecteurs de mouvement (2343) associé à un macro-bloc d'une image vidéo. Un module de réduction de vecteur de mouvement (1131) détermine un deuxième ensemble de vecteurs de mouvement (2344), basé sur le premier ensemble de vecteurs de mouvement (2343), associé au macro-bloc, le deuxième ensemble (2344) ayant moins de vecteurs de mouvement que le premier ensemble (2343).
