COMPOSITE INTERNAL FIXATORS

A multi-layer, fiber-reinforced composite orthopaedic fixation device having a design selected based on a desired characteristic of the orthopaedic fixation device. The design may be selected according to a model of the device, the model defining design constraints, and the design may comprise a pattern of the fiber angle for each layer. The selection of a design may be analyzed using finite element analysis to determine whether the design will comprise the desired characteristic. La présente invention concerne un dispositif de fixation orthopédique composite à fibres renforcées, multicouches, ayant une conception choisie en se basant sur une caractéristique souhaitée du dispositif de fixation orthopédique. La conception peut être choisie selon un modèle du dispositif, le modèle définissant des contraintes de conception, et la conception pouvant comprendre un motif de l'angle des fibres pour chaque couche. Le choix d'une conception peut être analysé en utilisant une analyse par éléments finis afin de déterminer si la conception comprendra la caractéristique souhaitée.
