Zusammenfassung:Disclosed is a device for removing water from umbrellas which makes it possible to reliably maintain a water absorbing function with virtually no maintenance and preferably without the need for consumption of electrical energy, which has a simple structure, and which makes it possible to adequately absorb/remove water clinging to the covering part of the umbrella simply, reliably and quickly. The device comprises: a housing; an umbrella insertion opening provided in the housing; a plurality of elastic water-absorbing bodies inside the housing which are radially provided with a specified interval between one another when seen from the upper side in a direction substantially normal to the upper surface of the umbrella insertion opening; an insertion space which is formed at the centre of the plurality of elastic water-absorbing bodies; and a compression device for compressing the elastic water-absorbing bodies. The elastic water-absorbing bodies have a substantially rectangular surface part which comes into surface contact with at least part of the main surface of the covering part of the umbrella in the length direction of the umbrella which has been folded, and moisture clinging to the covering part of the umbrella is absorbed/removed by these elastic water-absorbing bodies by insertion of the folded umbrella into the insertion space. The compression device compresses the elastic water-absorbing bodies in order to expel moisture which has been absorbed by the elastic water-absorbing bodies.
