A package for smoking articles comprising an inner shell and an outer shell, the inner shell defining a space for smoking articles and the outer shell defining a cavity to receive the inner shell, the inner and outer shells being hingedly connected such that they pivot relative to each other from a closed position in which the inner shell is received in the outer shell and an open position in which the inner shell extends from the outer shell, wherein the outer shell includes a sidewall that overlaps a sidewall of the inner shell when the inner and outer shells are in their closed position, a recess being formed in the sidewall of one of the inner or outer shells and a tab extending from a corresponding sidewall of the inner or outer shell such that, when the inner and outer shells are in their closed position, the tab locates in said recess. L'invention concerne un emballage pour articles à fumer comprenant une coque interne et une coque externe, la coque interne définissant un espace pour articles à fumer et la coque externe une cavité pour loger la coque interne, les coques interne et externe étant reliées de manière articulée de façon à pivoter l'une par rapport à l'autre d'une position fermée dans laquelle la coque interne est logée dans la coque externe et une position ouverte dans laquelle la coque interne s'étend de la coque externe, dans laquelle la coque externe comporte une paroi latérale qui recouvre une paroi latérale de la coque interne lorsque les coques interne et externe sont dans leur position fermée, un évidement étant formé dans la paroi latérale de l'une ou l'autre coque interne ou externe et une languette s'étendant d'une paroi latérale correspondante de l'une ou l'autre coque interne ou externe de façon que, lorsque les coques interne et externe sont dans leur position fermée,la languette se situe dans ledit évidement.
