Friction ring preferably obtained by said method. L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'un matériau de friction, plus particulièrement d'une couronne de friction pour disque de friction d'embrayage, comportant une opération d'imprégnation d'un fil comprenant des fibres minérales, au moyen d'un ciment d'imprégnation aqueux contenant au moins un composé de type surfactant et des charges, caractérisé en ce que le composé de type surfactant es t un polyvinylalcool.
