The method comprises the step of using the environment (50) of the wireless communication network (100) local to the base station (10) to obtain location information of said base station (10), The invention further relates to a base station in a wireless communication network for performing said method. L'invention concerne un procédé qui permet de déterminer l'emplacement d'une station de base (10) dans un réseau de communication sans fil (100). Le procédé consiste à utiliser l'environnement local (50) du réseau de communication sans fil (100) de la station de base (10) afin d'obtenir des informations de localisation relatives à ladite station de base (10). L'invention porte également sur une station de base qui permet la mise en oeuvre dudit procédé dans un réseau de communication sans fil.
