A messaging server (110a) discovers new messaging clients (110b) within the distributed computing system (100), verifies that registered messaging clients (110b) are operational, maintains synchronization among the registered messaging clients (110b), manages a master version of a resource location cache (114a), and manages a master version of a multicast registration data structure (116a).
