Zusammenfassung:	Novel substituted benzamide based inhibitors, their use in therapy, pharmaceutical compositions comprising the compounds, the use of said compounds in the manufacture of medicaments, and therapeutic methods comprising the administration of said compounds are described. The present compounds modulate the activity of 11ß-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 (11ßHSD1) and are accordingly useful in the treatment of diseases in which such a modulation is beneficial, such as the metabolic syndrome. L'invention concerne des nouveaux inhibiteurs à base de benzamide substitué, leur utilisation à des fins thérapeutiques, des compositions pharmaceutiques comprenant lesdits composés, l'utilisation desdits composés dans la fabrication de médicaments, et des méthodes thérapeutiques consistant à administrer lesdits composés. Les composés de l'invention modulent l'activité de la 11ß-hydroxystéroïde déshydrogénase de type 1 (11ßHSD1) et sont par conséquent utiles dans le traitement de maladies dans lesquelles ladite modulation est bénéfique, notamment pour le syndrome métabolique.
