Zusammenfassung:	Novel substituted benzamide based inhibitors, their use in therapy, pharmaceutical compositions comprising the compounds, the use of said compounds in the manufacture of medicaments, and therapeutic methods comprising the administration of said compounds are described. The present compounds modulate the activity of 11ß -hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 (11ßHSD1) and are accordingly useful in the treatment of diseases in which such a modulation is beneficial, such as the metabolic syndrome. L'invention concerne de nouveaux inhibiteurs à base de benzamides substitués, leur utilisation en thérapie, des compositions pharmaceutiques comprenant ces composés, l'utilisation de ces composés dans la fabrication de médicaments, ainsi que des méthodes thérapeutiques comprenant l'administration de ces composés. Les présents composés modulent l'activité de la 11ß-hydroxystéroïde déshydrogénase de type 1 (11ßHSD1) et sont par conséquent utiles dans le traitement de maladies pouvant bénéficier d'une modulation de ce type, telles que le syndrome métabolique.
