L'invention concerne un procédé configuré pour examiner une structure de dispositif d'affichage à cristaux liquides (LCD), le procédé comportant les opérations consistant : à irradier une structure LCD avec un rayonnement pulsé ayant au moins une fréquence dans la plage de 40 GHz à 100 THz; à détecter le rayonnement qui a été transmis à travers la structure ou réfléchi par la structure; à déterminer des informations concernant la structure par la mesure d'une quantité au moins associée à l'amplitude du rayonnement détecté.
