The microencapsulated delivery vehicles may be introduced into products such as wet- or dry wipes such that, upon activation, the product provides a functional benefit to a substrate, such as a user's skin. The microencapsulated delivery vehicle comprises an aqueous core comprising an encapsulating activator, a matrix material and an active agent. The microencapsulated delivery vehicle has a diameter of 5-5000 microns and can be further coated with a moisture protective layer or a fugitive layer to provide fluid-impervious and stabilised microencapsulated delivery vehicles.
