Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates to the use of N-substituted ?-methylene ?-lactams as non-steroidal ligands for modulating ecdysone receptors generally and, in particular, ecdysone receptors of the Australian blowfly, Lucilia cuprina. The present invention further relates to novel N-substituted ?-methylene ?-lactams. These compounds are useful as insecticides or as lead compounds for the development of insecticides. The compounds are also useful as effectors for ecdysone switches. La présente invention concerne l'utilisation de ?-méthylène ?-lactames N-substituées en tant que ligands non stéroïdiens destinés à moduler les récepteurs de l'ecdysone en général, et en particulier les récepteurs de l'ecdysone de la calliphore australienne, Lucilia cuprina. L'invention a également trait à de nouvelles ?-méthylène ?-lactames N-substituées. Lesdits composés sont utiles en tant qu'insecticides ou en tant que têtes de série permettant l'élaboration d'insecticides. Les composés sont également utiles en tant qu'effecteurs pour les commutateurs de l'ecdysone.
