METHOD OF HIGH-TEMPERATURE TREATMENT OF ARTICLE USING VENTED RECLOSABLE PACKAGE

A method of treating an article, comprising the steps of placing an article inside a reclosable bag having at least one vent, closing the bag with the article inside, and then heating the bag with its contents to a high temperature. The method may further comprise the step of placing an amount of water inside the reclosable bag before the bag is heated, in which case the high temperature is equal to or greater than the boiling temperature of water. During the heating step, steam escapes from the bag via the vent.
