PERIPHERAL SUPPLIED ADDRESSING IN A SIMPLE DMA

A method of performing a direct memory access has the steps of selecting a peripheral device for performing a direct memory access through a direct memory access controller; providing a partial address by the peripheral device to the direct memory access controller; and forming the source or destination address by combining the partial address with selected bits from a source register within the direct memory access controller. La présente invention concerne un procédé pour réaliser un accès direct à la mémoire (DMA) qui met en jeu les étapes suivantes : la sélection d'un dispositif périphérique pour réaliser un accès direct à la mémoire par un contrôleur d'accès direct à la mémoire ; la fourniture par le dispositif périphérique d'une adresse partielle au contrôleur d'accès à la mémoire ; et la production de l'adresse de source ou de destination en combinant l'adresse partielle avec des bits sélectionnés à partir d'un registre source dans le contrôleur d'accès direct à la mémoire.
