The invention relates to an instrument panel which comprises a rigid support (10) which comprises a body delimiting an opening (16) for the passage of an airbag and a flap which can pivot relative to the rigid support and is intended to close the opening (16), a skin and, between the skin and the rigid support (10), a layer of plastic foam, the rigid support (10) having a portion of localized thinned foam (30) positioned on the side facing towards the skin. The localized thinned portion (30) comprises passages (32) running substantially parallel to the rigid support and to the skin, these being formed between several parallel ribs (30) which terminate at at least one edge of the opening (16) through which the airbag can pass.
