L'invention concerne un procédé et appareil qui améliore la précision De positionnement d'un point géocodé par rapport aux procédés de géocodage et géocodeurs traditionnels. Le procédé et l'appareil utilisent des données de réalité du terrain (si disponibles) en conjugaison avec des informations de plage d'adresses pour un segment donné pour obtenir une précision de positionnement que l'art antérieur ne permettait pas jusqu'ici d'obtenir.
