L'invention concerne des composés de cyclophane d'ammonium biquaternaire qui constituent des modulateurs des récepteurs nicotiniques de l'acétylcholine. L'invention concerne aussi des procédés d'utilisation de ces composés pour moduler la fonction du récepteur nicotinique de l'acétylcholine et prévenir et/ou traiter des troubles du système nerveux central, la consommation ou l'abus de substances toxiques et/ou des troubles du tractus gastro-intestinal.
