METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SECURING I.V. NEEDLE AND LUER FITTING

An IV holder for securing an IV needle and Luer fitting assembly. The IV holder includes a frame defining an aperture with a first portion and a second portion, the first portion of the aperture further being covered by a transparent window for protecting and securing the IV needle insertion site. The second portion of the aperture is disposed to fit a cylindrical Luer fitting. The holder is adhesively applied to a patient's skin and situated so that the needle insertion site is under the window and the first portion of the aperture while the Luer fitting is disposed within the second portion of the aperture. La présente invention concerne un support pour intraveineuse destiné à fixer une aiguille pour intraveineuse et un ensemble raccord Luer. Ledit support comprend un cadre définissant une ouverture avec une première partie et une seconde partie, la première partie de l'ouverture étant en outre recouverte d'une fenêtre transparente destinée à protéger et fixer le site d'insertion de l'aiguille pour intraveineuse. La seconde partie de l'ouverture est disposée pour s'adapter à un raccord Luer. Le support est appliqué de manière adhésive sur la peau d'un patient et situé de sorte que le site d'insertion de l'aiguille se trouve sous la fenêtre et la première partie de l'ouverture tandis que le raccord Luer est disposé à l'intérieur de la seconde partie de l'ouverture.
