Zusammenfassung:	A method and system for creating, reading and writing compressed data for use with a block mode access storage. The compressed data are packed into plurality of compressed units and stored in a storage logical unit (LU). One or more corresponding compressed units may be read and/or updated with no need of restoring the entire storage logical unit whilst maintaining de-fragmented structure of the LU. La présente invention concerne un procédé et un système pour produire, lire et inscrire des données compressées à utiliser avec une mémoire d'accès en mode bloc. Les données compressées sont rassemblées sous la forme d'une pluralité d'unités compressées et enregistrées dans une unité mémoire logique (LU). Une ou plusieurs unités compressées correspondantes peuvent être lues et/ou mises à jour sans impliquer la restauration de l'intégralité de l'unité mémoire logique tout en conservant la structure défragmentée de la LU.
