Novel multifunctional compound for the treatment or the retardation of neurodegenerative diseases e.g. Alzheimer's disease and related pathological conditions. Formula (I); wherein, R is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug moiety, being selected from the category of acetic acid derivatives (such as indomethacin), propionic acid derivatives (e.g. naproxen, ketoprofen) or various other acids with anti-inflammatory action which do not belong to the Above mentioned categories, A is a CHOH group or a CH2 group or a (CH2)2 group, Y is an antioxidant moiety (cysteamine or cysteine ethyl ester) or neuroprotective moiety (2-Pyridin-3-yl-alkanol) or NGF-inducing moiety (e.g. 2-methoxy-4-methyl-phenol). L'invention concerne un nouveau composé multifonctionnel pour le traitement ou le ralentissement de maladies neurodégénératives comme la maladie d'Alzheimer et des affections pathologiques associées. Formule (1) ; dans laquelle R est une portion de médicament anti-inflammatoire non stéroïdien, sélectionné dans la catégorie des dérivés d'acides acétiques (comme l'indométhacine), des dérivés d'acides propioniques (comme le naproxène, le kétoprofène) ou divers autres acides présentant une action anti-inflammatoire et qui ne font pas partie des catégories mentionnées précédemment, A est un groupe CHOH ou un groupe CH2 ou encore un groupe (CH2)2, Y est une portion antioxydante (cystéamine ou un ester éthylique de cystéine) ou une portion neuroprotectrice (2-Pyridine-3-yle-alcanol) ou une partie induisant NGF (2-méthoxy-4-méthyl-phénol).
