METHOD FOR DETECTING AND TRACKING PUNCTUAL TARGETS, IN AN OPTOELECTRONIC SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM

The invention concerns a method in an optoelectronic image processing for monitoring and tracking punctual targets, which consists in providing a quantization of a level of complexity of the local background on which a target is detected in an image, to adapt the criteria for associating blips with tracks based on said complexity level. Said quantization is based on a segmentation of the image into zones of homogeneous radiometric characteristics. The integration of the complexity level of the local background on which a punctual target is detected enables the hypothetical tracks for which the blips detected are highly contrasted to be more rapidly validated. Further, it enables phantom blips to be detected, exclusively for monitoring the validated tracks, by locally lowering the blip detection threshold in a zone of the complex image in which the target should be located. Dans un traitement d'image optroniques, pour détecter et suivre des pistes de cibles ponctuelles, on prévoit une quantification d'un niveau de complexité du fond local sur lequel une cible est détectée dans une image, pour adapter les critères d'association de plots à des pistes en fonction dudit niveau de complexité. Cette quantification est basée sur un découpage de l'image en zones de caractéristiques radiométriques homogènes. La prise en compte du niveau de complexité du fond local sur lequel est détecté une cible ponctuelle permet de valider plus rapidement les pistes hypothèses pour lesquels les plots détectés sont à fort contraste. Il permet en outre la détection de plots fantômes, aux fins exclusives de suivi des pistes validées, par l'abaissement du seuil de détection de plot, localement, dans une zone de l'image complexe dans laquelle devrait se situer la cible.
