PARKING BRAKE DEVICE

A parking brake device, wherein a lock mechanism (25) operated to mechanically lock a parking piston (24) at an advanced position according to the advancing operation of the parking piston (24) and operated to release the locking according to the action of a control fluid pressure for releasing parking is installed in a casing (23) at the rear of the parking piston (24) capable of providing a parking brake state by an advancing operation according to the action of the control fluid pressure for parking. The lock mechanism (25) comprises a lock piston (30) disposed at the rear of the parking piston (24) on an axis orthogonal to the axis of the parking piston (24) and acting a forward energizing force on the parking piston (24) at least when the parking piston (24) performs the advancing operation. Both end parts of the lock piston (30) are slidably fitted to and supported on the casing (23). Thus, the automatic parking brake state can be provided by a simple structure which does not consume electric power.
