EXHAUST FAN ASSEMBLY HAVING FLEXIBLE COUPLING

An exhaust assembly is provided for expelling contaminated air from a building. The assembly includes a plenum, a fan assembly attached to the plenum, and a windband mounted on top of the fan assembly. The fan assembly is constructed of cydindricad outer and inner walls which define a drive chamber and surrounding annular space. A fan driven by a motor whose shaft extends downward from the drive chamber draws exhaust air from the plenum and blows it up through the annular space to a nozzle at the top of the fan assembly. The motor is pivotally mounted inside the assembdy to provide accese to the motor componente when it is desired to perform inspection and maintenance. L'invention concerne un ensemble d'évacuation destiné à expulser l'air contaminé d'un bâtiment. L'ensemble comprend une cavité, un ensemble ventilateur fixé à la cavité et un capot monté au-dessus de l'ensemble ventilateur. L'ensemble ventilateur comprend des parois cylindriques extérieure et intérieure définissant une chambre de commande et entourant un espace annulaire. Un ventilateur commandé par un moteur, dont l'axe s'étend vers le bas depuis la chambre de commande, aspire l'air à évacuer de la cavité et il le souffle vers le haut à travers l'espace annulaire jusqu'à une buse située au niveau de la partie supérieure de l'ensemble ventilateur. Le moteur est monté pivotant à l'intérieur de l'ensemble pour permettre l'accès aux pièces du moteur lorsqu'il est nécessaire d'effectuer une inspection et un entretien.
