Zusammenfassung:	A method of applying a coating of polymeric material to a surface of a substrate comprises the steps of contacting the surface to be coated with a suitable quantity of a solution of one or more polymerisable species and causing the polymerisable species to undergo polymerisation, characterised in that, during polymerisation, the solution and polymeric material formed therefrom are constrained by a mould placed against the surface of the substrate and cooperating therewith to define a chamber. The substrate may be a biosensor transducer. L'invention concerne un procédé de revêtement de surface de substrat avec un matériau polymère : contact entre la surface considérée et une quantité appropriée de solution d'une ou plusieurs espèces polymérisables, puis polymérisation durant laquelle la solution et le matériau polymère résultant sont contraints par un moule placé contre la surface du substrat et coopèrent pour définir une chambre. Le substrat peut être un transducteur de biocapteur.
