Zusammenfassung:	The present invention refers to a continuous process for the manufacture of methyl mercaptan using Mo-O-K-based catalysts. It is further described that the total selectivity of methylmercaptan can be increased by at least 1% by lowering the total gas hourly space velocity. The invention further refers to a process for the preparation of a solid, preformed catalyst system. L'invention concerne un procédé continu permettant de produire du méthylmercaptan au moyen de catalyseurs à base de Mo-O-K-. L'invention porte également sur un processus permettant d'augmenter d'au moins 1 % la sélectivité totale du méthylmercaptan par réduction de la vitesse spatiale globale du gaz. Un procédé permettant de préparer un système catalyseur solide préformé est en outre décrit.
