The thermal insulation is attached to the exterior panel of the container, which may have structural supports on its interior surface. In one embodiment, the insulated cargo container is an insulated railroad boxcar. La présente invention concerne un conteneur de fret isolé pouvant comporter, en combinaison, une panneau intérieur recouvrant une couche d'isolation thermique sur laquelle est disposée une couche imperméable à l'air. L'isolation thermique est fixée au panneau extérieur du conteneur, lequel peut être doté de supports structuraux sur sa surface intérieure. Dans un mode de réalisation, le conteneur de fret isolé est un wagon couvert isolé.
