MOTION PICTURE ANTI-PIRACY CODING

Method and apparatus for uniquely identifying a copy of a motion picture disposed on a media. The method includes the steps of selecting a two or more motion picture scenes. Each of the motion picture scenes is an identifiable portion of the motion picture distinct from every other portion of the motion picture. Once the scenes have been identified, two or more sequences can be defined within each of the motion picture scenes such that each sequence includes two or more frames. For example, the motion picture can have three scenes, each divided into twenty eight sequences, with each of the sequences containing 12 frames. Once the scenes and sequences have been selected, the method at least one of the sequences from each scene is marked to define a uniquely identifiable marking pattern on the media. La présente invention concerne un procédé et un appareil pour identifier de façon unique une copie d'un film sur un support. Ce procédé consiste à sélectionner au moins deux scènes du film, chaque scène étant une partie identifiable du film, distincte de toute autre partie du film, puis, une fois que les scènes ont été identifiées, à définir au moins deux séquences dans chaque scène du film de façon que chaque séquence renferme au moins deux trames. Par exemple, le film peut avoir trois scènes, chacune divisée en vingt huit séquences, chaque séquence renfermant 12 trames. Une fois que les scènes et les séquences ont été sélectionnées, au moins une des séquences de chaque scène est marquée afin de définir un motif de marquage identifiable de façon unique sur le support.
