By utilizing a measurement result, the progression of a salt water front heading for the well (10) may be detected. Selon l'invention, un puits (10) permettant de produire de l'eau est caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend un réseau d'électrodes (8) largement espacées raccordées par voie électrique à un moyen de mesure (3) ou à un moyen de production de courant électrique (1).
