An apparatus for programming a headset is also provided including a headset and a programming unit (400) that includes an infrared light emitter (520) for communication with the infrared light detector of the headset. The programming unit may also include a cradle (420) for receiving a portion of the headset. A programmable headset is provided including an infrared light detector for receiving infrared light signals to establish operational settings. An apparatus for programming a headset is also provided including a headset and a programming unit that includes an infrared light emitter for communication with the infrared light detector of the headset. The programming unit may also include a cradle for receiving a portion of the headset. L'invention concerne un casque programmable comportant un détecteur de lumière infrarouge qui reçoit les signaux lumineux infrarouges permettant d'établir les réglages de fonctionnement. Par ailleurs, l'invention concerne un appareil de programmation d'un casque comportant un casque et une unité de programmation pourvue d'un émetteur de lumière infrarouge prévu pour communiquer avec le détecteur de lumière infrarouge du casque.
