ENTOMOPATHOGENIC MICROORGANISM SPORES CARRIER AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING HARMFUL INSECTS

The invention relates to a method for selective application of entomopathogenic fungi, that is characterized in that an attracting-contaminating device is used in which the spores of said fungus are fixed on an adsorbing material. As appropriate, that same adsorbing material or another material includes a specific attractant and is placed on an adhesive material. In certain cases, said adhesive material may include a gel-forming substance and different additives which preserve an adequate degree of humidity for the survival of the spores. Some of the advantages of this ecological method for the application of entomopathogenic fungi are the selectivity resulting from the use of specific attractants and the long-lasting attracting-contaminating effect owing to the use of the controlled speed emitter (adsorbing substance) and the greater persistence of the spores as a result of humidity control.. La patente describe un método de aplicación selectiva de hongos entomopatógenos, caracterizado por emplear un dispositivo atrayente-contaminante en el cual las esporas de dicho hongo se fijan sobre un material adsorbente; este mismo material adsorbente u otro, según los casos, lleva incorporado un atrayente específico y se sitúa sobre un material adherente. Este material adherente, en determinados casos, puede llevar incorporada una sustancia gelificante y diferentes aditivos, que mantienen el nivel adecuado de humedad para la supervivencia de las esporas.
